E una breve cronologia delle fasi iniziali della band torinese , tratta dal sito ufficiale della band (vedi sopra):
"From its debut, "arti & mestieri" have been seen in Italy and in the rest of the world as one of the most interesting and original bands in Progressive rock.Their style could be defined sometimes as 'classical progressive rock' but with the use of advanced jazzy harmonies, not so often used in 'classicalprog ' or 'Symphonic jazz rock' as the band uses symphonic idioms rarely used by jazz rock.Other times their style, their 'singin-like' instrumental melodic lines with their original orchestrations, they 'angular' harmonies coupled with strong rhythm figures make difficult to catalize and localize what's happening musically as all ingredients of their style are mixed up and locked in a sort of quite unique 'arti & mestieri' trademark progressive style.
After the first contact at the end of 1973, arti & mestieri's professionalactivity started in 1974 (next year they will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a new album, a DVD, a tour and a Special Concert with guests) in Turin.
The original line up was: Gigi Venegoni, on guitar, Giovanni Vigliar, on violin, Arturo Vitale, on sax and vibes and Marco Gallesi on bass, from the group 'IL Sogno di archimede', Furio Chirico from 'The Trip' and 'BeppeCrovella', from 'The Mystics'.
From the ealry beginning they got immediate interest from Cramps' manager Gianni Sassi and from PFM's manager Franco Mamone.
In June 74 with their debut at Festival Del Proletariato Giovanile, inParco Lambro (The Italian Woodstock) simply as 'Arti' and they got very positive responses from critics and from the 45.OOO people in the audience. In Rome they recorded Tilt that since then has been seen as a 'classic' ofthe style, with his very original Progressive approach.
Italian tours in sold out Theathers, with PFM and GENTLE GIANT, followed.Next year, after a new partecipation at Parco Lambro Festival was the year of 'Giro di Valzer Per Domani' , the second album, with more emphasis on jazz rock, maintaining the strong character of their style.
In this album we find Gianfranco Gaza on vocals (he died in 1986) and after a tour with Area, there were contacts with ELP's Manticore that didn't lead to a deal with them just because of managerial problems.Later, after having realized their last tune together as original line up(Necropoli) we have the first split, in the band, by Gigi Venegoni (who will form Venegoni & co. soon later) and Marco Gallesi (who will form Esagono). They touring southern Italy without a Guitar player and with Gigi Fregapane on bass. They started working on their 3rd album (their first compositions were Ode,and Aura by Beppe) but the general crisis of the prog movement in 1978 (one of the grey moments in prog rock) lead to the end of "arti & mestieri's"phase one, and the band split.

First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had trouble clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Thank you!

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to
be running off the screen in Safari. I'm not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know.
The design and style look great though! Hope you get the issue solved soon.

This design is incredible! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost.

..HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and
more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. However think about if you added some great graphics or video clips to give your posts more,
"pop"! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this blog could certainly be one of the greatest in its field.
Awesome blog!

possibly harmful blog in my internet browser chrome.
I'd highly suggest having somebody look into it. You could very well lose a lot of visitors due to this issue. Best of Luck.

Hi there. I noticed your blog title, "Blogger: popartx" doesn't really reflect the content of your web page. When composing your website title, do you believe it's
best to write it for Search engine optimization or for
your audience? This is one thing I've been battling with because I want great search rankings but at the same time I want the best quality for my site visitors.
