OUTSIDERS "Keep On Trying / Thats Your Problem" 4° 45 (Relax , 1966)

Altro 45 giri della "premiata forneria " R. Splinder /Wally Tax che vi consiglio altamente (entrambe le tracks sono presenti nell'album "Best Of..) è il 4° della discografia degli OUTSIDERS; "Keep On Trying /That's Your Problem".

"Keep On Trying" è una splendida slow song , il testo ricorda le tematiche tipiche di moltissime delle prime canzoni dei ROLLING STONES (la "wicked girl" that "...goes around with every man in town"), ma , rispetto alla caratteristica aggressività verbale e all'usuale tono "misogino" dei primi STONES, qui la vena è decisamente molto più malinconica:

"Just keep on trying /And you'll succeed in breaking my heart /Just you keep on lying /And you'll succeed in tearing it apart /Just you keep on, yeh keep on trying /And you've got me, you've got me crying /My resistance is low now girl'Cause I love you, don't you know now /Just you keep running around With every man, every man / you know now /And you've got me down and out /I'll be crying before you know".

Sarà coverizzata dai TELL TALE HEARTS di MIKE STAX nell'epocale , omonimo, 1st lp (Voxx , 1984) e , più avanti (nel 1997 credo), dai THANES nel bellissimo "Undignified Noblemen" , a mio parere uno dei capolavori del folk rock degli anni '90 .

"That's Your Problem" è invece uno straordinario, serratissimo raw-r'n'b-garage-punk, coverizzato poi sempre dai TELL TALE HEARTS ( e dagli OTHERS too, se non ricordo male).

Credetemi "Keep On Trying" è una delle più splendide canzoni dei 1960s ( e quindi di sempre),..e se non lo avete capito andate pure ad ascoltarvi per 39 volte al giorno su MTV , in rotazione continua, l'ultimo singolo di Ligabue che si arruffiana la platea sentimental-rincoglionita ..fino all'ultimo messaggino a soli 50 cents del tipo"mandatelo x favore vi prego "...burpp!

Assolutamente fantastico. Meraviglioso. This is one of the greatest 7" ever recorded in the history of r'n'r...e Den Harrow ci fa 'na pippa.
3° 45 giri della grande dutch band (from Amsterdam)di WALLY TAX (purtroppo scomparso nel 2005), conteneva ,sul lato A "Lying All The Time" (poi coverizzata dai CYNICS), un jingle-jangle folk rock assolutamente splendido.
Sul lato B "Thinking About Today", straordinario punk-r'n'b . Grandiosi.Extremely adviced.
