Caro Michele,Dopo tanti ripensamenti e dopo strazianti giù dalla torre ecco la mia classifica definitiva, senza ex aequo, se classifica deve essere che lo sia fino in fondo.
Lascio fuori due titoli che fin dall’inizio se la sono giocata con tutti gli altri e che naturalmente mi spiace segare, quindi li cito e gli rendo l’onore delle armi:
Kings of the wild frontier – Adam & the Ants (1980)
Creuza de Ma – Fabrizio de Andrè (1984)
Il cuore è facile da abbindolare, ma lo stomaco no e questi primi 10 sono tutti di stomaco, compreso Nightclubbing di Grace Jones ,unica donna, con la produzione di Sly & Robbie che per una buona parte è composto di covers, ma per me resta un album perfetto.
Anche un album che sembra non entrarci nulla con questa classifica, come il primo dei King Crimson, in realtà è rimasto dentro di me molto di più dei vari Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath e compagnia bella. Canzoni come 21th Century Schizoid Man e tutte le altre, Epitaph per esempio, hanno condizionato il rock più di quanto in realtà siamo disposti ad ammettere e a ben vedere è molto meno prog di quanto in realtà si creda. De gustibus direte, ognuno ha le sue fisse dico io, per quello che non amo scrivere di musica.
Naturalmente ho considerato gli album nella loro interezza non per un pezzo o due, motivo per cui restano fuori Marc Bolan che ha scritto delle canzoni incredibili di una potenza inaudita ma che per me, non ha mai realizzato un album intero così completo.
Idem per i primi degli Stooges, alla fine The idiot di Iggy li ha scalzati alla grande e ha avuto il sopravvento
.E i Clash solo al 6° posto? E’ l’unico disco doppio ragazzi, un disco doppio non dovrebbe nemmeno entrare in classifica. Questo invece c’è e ci sta dalla prima fino all’ultima songs, è la chiusura di un’epoca e di un’epopea senza rimpianti ne’ addii struggenti ma con la sacrosanta strafottenza del punk.
Caro Joe sai che quando hai bisogno io ci sono sempre. Per i primi 2 indimenticabili lp dei Clash stesso discorso degli Stooges avrei dovuto votarli ex aequo per farli entrare. Quello che non mi so spiegare è come il primo dei Doors (che conosco tutto a memoria) non sia nemmeno entrato per un attimo in classifica, che sia per effetto della troppa sovraesposizione e della eccessiva attenzione dei media verso Morrison e gli altri zombies?
Peccato un gran disco, a parte ogni tanto quelle tastiere che devono sempre entrarci a tutti i costi anche quando non servono a un cazzo, ma non riesco a mettercelo se non per forza e non mi sembra il caso.
L’ondata grunge perdonatemi, ma ero troppo vecchio allora, per rendermi conto che erano pezzi nuovi e non vecchie cover suonate alla cazzo da nuovi selvaggi.
Non che mi abbia preso di contropiede, non mi ha proprio preso e basta anche se c’erano delle cose carine. Peccato e, sintomatico però, che il pezzo più famoso e ascoltato di quell’epoca sia rimasta la cover di “The man who sold the world” di Bowie, di qualche annetto prima, suonata dai Nirvana.
Ora che sono più giovane forse cercherò di essere più buono come mi è successo con gli U2, mai cagati, ma ultimamente mi sono sorpreso a canticchiare qualche loro pezzo più orecchiabile anche se il loro disco più bello per me rimane quello in cui loro hanno suonato di meno (“Discoteque”) e hanno lasciato fare a Eno.
Gli altri non hanno bisogno di commenti, fanno talmente parte della mia vita che spero prima o poi di riuscire a scrollarmeli di dosso.Ciao Johnny
